Exercise and Rehabilitation Prescription

Will my Osteopath give me exercises ?

The short answer- most likely. Although everyone is different, there has been much published on the benefits of strength training and the importance of rehabilitating injuries. I'm passionate about getting you moving and feeling better which may involve prescribing stretches and/or exercises as an adjunct to manual therapy in reducing the chance of re-injury. Once you attend the clinic, a comprehensive treatment plan will be designed for you and exercises can be prescribed in person, on paper and/or using the program Physitrack (which will have all your exercises e-mailed to your inbox). â€‹

Why do I need to rehab?

Some injuries occur due to the musculoskeletal system being pushed past its 'normal' range, whilst others are due to loading tissues too quickly. A good rehabilitation program takes into account which specific structures need to be loaded, whilst also acknowledging areas of restriction which may be placing more stress on the body. The goal of rehab is to progressively overload tissues in small, manageable increments in a controlled setting to reduce the chance of re-injury.
